| Ex-Offenders and Voting - New York |
|
In New York, ex-offenders only regain the right to vote after both serving time in prison and on parole. Ex-offenders on probation are eligible to vote. It is recommended that after prison and parole, people re-register or update their voter registration as soon as possible. For more information on ex-offenders and voting, visit The Brennan Center or The Sentencing Project.
