Voter ID - Maine

If you registered by mail and are a first time voter in Maine and did not provide ID with your mail registration, you will need to bring ID when you vote on Election Day.  Acceptable ID includes a copy of:

  • Your current and valid photo ID (driver's license, passport, other government photo ID, etc)
  • Or a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or government document that shows your name and address

If you are already a Maine voter, you do not need to bring an ID. But it is always a good idea to bring ID to the polls when you vote.
