Voter ID - New Jersey

If you are a first-time voter who registered by mail and did not provide ID with registration application, you must have ID at the polls when you vote.  Photo and non-photo ID are accepted, including-

  • A driver’s license, student or job identification, military or other government ID, store membership identification, or United States Passport.
  • Or, a bank statement, car registration, government check or document, non-photo driver’s license, rent receipt, sample ballot, utility bill, or any other official document with your current name and address.

If you are already a New Jersey voter, you do not need an ID. However it is a good idea to bring ID to the polls when you vote.
