Voter ID - New York
If you are a first-time voter who registered by mail and did not provide ID with registration application, you must have ID at the polls when you vote.  Both Photo ID and non-photo ID are accepted.  For example (but not limited to)
  • Driver’s license
  • Passport
  • National identity card
  • Military ID card
  • Employee ID card
  • Student ID card
  • State ID card
  • Public housing ID card
  • Copy of a utility bill; bank statement; paycheck; government check (e.g. Social Security, tax refund)
  • Or other government documents with name and address of voter including a voter registration card, property tax receipt, or hunting/fishing license

If you are already a New York voter, you do not need an ID. However it is a good idea to bring ID to the polls when you vote.
