In 2005, George Pillsbury joined with state and national nonprofit partners to establish Nonprofit VOTE, now a national hub of voter engagement training and resources for the nation's nonprofit and civic sector. Prior to starting Nonprofit VOTE, George founded and directed MassVOTE, a nonpartisan voter engagement organization in Massachusetts. He also started several foundations dedicated to community uplift including the Haymarket People's Fund of Boston, Funding Exchange, The Film Fund, and Cooperative Fund of New England. His work in the fields of philanthropy, social investing and voter and civic participation spans three decades.

George has authored numerous nonpartisan voter engagement toolkits and guides, including Nonprofits, Voting and Elections: A Guide for 501(c)(3)s and America Goes to the Polls, a series of national voter turnout reports. George has a B.A. from Yale University and an M.P.A. from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Sophie has extensive and varied experience with both domestic and international elections and political processes. She has served as a poll worker, volunteered with Kids Voting Durham, and has registered new American citizens to vote. She was part of a research team that reviewed and analyzed hundreds of international election monitoring reports to study the impact of these monitoring missions. After studying abroad on a Tibetan and Himalayan studies program, she wrote her senior thesis on the evolution of the Tibetan government-in-exile elections. She also worked with the National Democratic Institute in Nepal on a range of civil society strengthening programs. Prior to joining Nonprofit VOTE, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a women's shelter in Boston. She graduated with high honors from Duke University, majoring in Political Science and History and earning a certificate in Global Health.
