It’s finally here. Today is National Voter Registration Day!
First things first. Are you registered? If yes, then great! If you’re not sure, check your registration. Have you moved recently? It’s an important question, because one in four voters wrongly believe that their registration is automatically updated when then change their address with the U.S. Postal Service. If you need to register or update your registration information:
- Find a National Voter Registration Day event near you,
- Register online if you live in one of the 20 states that allow it, or
- Use our tool to fill out a registration form, then print it, sign it, and return it to the address provided.
After you’ve registered, help us spread the word about voter registration by joining the conversation. People are more likely to respond to messages from peers or people they know and trust, so encouraging your friend and family to register and then vote on November 4th can have a huge impact.
Join us online to amplify our voices and ensure that no one misses the chance to register. In addition to registering voters, we want to use National Voter Registration Day to jumpstart conversations about registration and the upcoming election. Be sure to use the official hashtag – #CelebrateNVRD – in all of your online conversations.
Thanks for celebrating democracy in America!
