- Eligibility to Register to Vote
- In order to be eligible to register to vote in Alaska, an applicant must:
- Be a United States Citizen
- Reside in Alaska
- Be at least 18 years old or will be 18 years of age within 90 days of registering to vote
- Have not registered to vote in another state or cancels the registration in another state when completing an Alaska registration application
- Eligibility for Ex-offenders
- Voting rights are automatically restored after completion of sentence including parole and probation. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.
- Registration Deadline Voter registration forms must be received 30 days before the election. However, Alaska law allows for same day voter registration for the purpose of voting for President and Vice President of the United States. You may vote a questioned ballot at any polling place, vote an in-person absentee ballot at an absentee voting location or vote a by-mail ballot or by-fax ballot.
