- Eligibility to Register to Vote
- In order to be eligible to register to vote in Louisiana, an applicant must:
- Be a United States Citizen
- Reside in the state and parish in which you seek to register
- Be at least 17 years old, but must be 18 years old prior to next election to vote
- Not be under a judgement of full interdiction for mental incompetence or partial interdiction with suspension of voting rights
- Eligibility for Ex-offenders
- Voting rights are automatically restored after completion of sentence including parole and probation. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.
- Registration Deadline
- Voter registration forms must be received 30 days before the election.
