- In order to be eligible to register to vote in Texas, an applicant must:
- Be a United States Citizen
- Reside in Texas
- Be 18 years of age or older on election day (though you may register at 17 years and 10 months)
- Not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
- Eligibility for Ex-offenders
- Voting rights are automatically restored after completion of sentence including parole and probation. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.
- Registration Deadline
- Voter registration forms must be submitted by or postmarked 30 days before the election.
