Voter Registration in Washington

Quick Facts

Eligibility to Register to Vote
In order to be eligible to register to vote in Washington, an applicant must:
  • Be a United States Citizen
  • Reside in Washington
  • Be at least 18 years of age or older on Election Day
  • Not have been declared mentally incompetent and ineligible to vote
Eligibility for Ex-offenders
Voting rights are automatically restored after completion of sentence including parole and probation. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.
Registration Deadline
Voter registration forms must be submitted by or postmarked 30 days before the election (by mail) or received 15 days before the election (in person).
