- Eligibility to Register to Vote
- In order to be eligible to register to vote in West Virginia, an applicant must:
- Be a United States Citizen
- Be a resident of West Virginia and the county where you want to register
- Be at least 17 years of age and 18 before the next general election (Seventeen year olds may register and vote in Primary Elections if they turn 18 by the next General Election)
- Eligibility for Ex-offenders
- Voting rights are automatically restored after completion of sentence including parole and probation. Ex-offenders should re-register to vote.
- Registration Deadline
- Voter registration forms must be submitted by or postmarked 21 days before the election.
