Community Health Vote is a project to support the nation’s 1,200 community health centers in establishing nonpartisan voter registration as one of the services they provide to their patients and communities on an ongoing basis.
Its new website hosts an array of state-specific registration materials, including a community health center toolkit. Like other 501(c)(3) nonprofits, community health centers work with a number of eligible voters who are either unregistered or who need to update their registration information in order to cast a ballot. By making voter registration readily accessible and convenient for patients – who are statistically in demographic groups that are less likely to be registered to vote and engaged in the electoral process – health centers can offer a pathway to become more informed and civically engaged.
Community Health Vote is also utilizing a new, easy-to-use voter registration tool that populates a state-specific voter registration form that can then be printed, signed, and mailed to the election board.
