Voter Turnout in the 2014 Election

This month, Nonprofit VOTE will release America Goes to the Polls 2014, the fifth installment of our biannual series of reports on national turnout and voting trends. In this webinar we will examine some of the report’s most interesting findings, including state-by-state voter turnout rankings and factors affecting turnout, such as Election Day Registration and competition. We will also cover key voting trends among populations served by nonprofits, as well as proposals to expand voter registration and opportunities to cast a ballot.
Featured Presenters: George Pillsbury is founder and former executive director of Nonprofit VOTE. He has authored numerous nonpartisan voter engagement guides, including Nonprofits, Voting and Elections and America Goes to the Polls, a biennial series on voter turnout. His articles have appeared in The Nonprofit Quarterly and National Civic Review. George has a B.A. from Yale University and an M.P.A. from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Dr. Michael P. McDonald is Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Florida and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from University of California, San Diego and B.S. in Economics from the California Institute of Technology. He’s the author of numerous books and articles and maintains the United States Elections Project.
