As of yesterday, more than 1,000 partners have signed on to host voter registration events across the country on National Voter Registration Day, which falls on Tuesday, September 23rd.
National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) is the largest single-day effort of the year to register voters and involve them in the American political process. Now in its third year, more than 350,000 voters have registered through the efforts of more than 2,100 partners.
This news coincides with the announcement that NVRD will continue to be supported and recognized by the National Association of Secretaries of State, which has passed a five-year resolution proclaiming the fourth Tuesday of September as National Voter Registration Day.
Organizations can still sign up to become a National Voter Registration Day partner. The NVRD website features resources that make it easy for partners to plan and promote their voter registration events on September 23, including field planning and communications toolkits, posters, social media graphics, and much more. Partners that sign up by September 5, 2014 will receive free printed materials to execute their voter registration events.
