The SAVE Act is Back: What Nonprofits Can Do About It
Last Updated: May 21, 2026
The nonprofit sector has a crucial nonpartisan role in our democracy. Without trusted nonpartisan resources, voters are left to fend for themselves to find information like election deadlines, polling locations, and what choices are even on the ballot in a harshly divided and politicized climate. If we want a representative democracy by the people and for the people, our sector gets to rally our communities to show up when it counts!
This year holds milestones. As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Nonprofit VOTE marks 20 years of working alongside nonprofits to build a more inclusive democracy. For two decades, we’ve seen that the trust built in communities is what makes participation possible.
